High Flyer Smoothies

This 5-minute recipe transports your taste buds to warmer climates with the sweetness of rich tropical fruits. A layered smoothie is just a fun way of playing with a classic breakfast drink/snack. Add a custom toothpick and the likeness to one of Dr. Seuss’s magical books is unmistakable.

Let your kiddos color in the fun toothpick art below. Add a striped straw and you’ve got a treat right out of the pages of Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

High Flyer Smoothies
Serves 4
Red layer ingredients:

1 banana
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup almond milk

Yellow layer ingredients:
1 banana
1 cup frozen mango
1/4 cup almond milk

Make It:
Puree red smoothie until well blended. Store in the refrigerator as you prepare the next smoothie. Puree the yellow smoothie until well blended.

To combine, add a layer of the red smoothie about an inch high. Tap the glass slightly to allow the smoothie to settle in an even layer. Next add in a layer of the yellow smoothie (about an inch high again). Slightly tap the glass to settle and finish with a layer of the red smoothie.

Top with a fun High Flyer toothpick (print out below. Use some crayons to color then cut out and tape to affix to a toothpick). Add a fun striped straw then Oh, the enjoyment you’ll have!
