This English dessert is as simple as whipped cream, a touch of sugar, and fresh berries. Served in a special glass it looks so much fancier than its basic preparation. This makes it ideal for summer gatherings and effortless summer desserts when you want to indulge but not sweat in the kitchen.
Strawberry Fool
Serves 4
Ingredients:
3 cups strawberries, divided (stems removed)
1/2 cup of sugar, divided
1 cup heavy cream
Make It:
Purée half the strawberries with half the sugar in a blender. Set the puree to the side.
Next, in a medium bowl, beat the cream with 1 tablespoon of sugar until soft peaks form.
Slice the remaining strawberries. Then, in another bowl, mix the remaining sugar with the sliced strawberries.
To finish, layer your dessert starting with the purée, then adding a dollop of whipped cream, and a scoop of sliced strawberries. To make patterns you can just run a spoon up the side of the glass, allowing the whipped cream to swirl with the purée.
Any leftovers go phenomenally as a topping on a waffle for a decadent breakfast the next day.
